I like the cool factor of this stove and it would be fun to use while camping with free time. In a truck or on the road, though, why not go with a lot faster and cleaner option? The single butane stoves you mentioned are awesome. Canned fuel for them is $4 at Walmart. The stoves themselves are $20 or so on Amazon. You don't really need much if any ventilation with them. They are plenty safe to use on the counter in the back of your truck if you are careful.
Also, you could get a little backpacker stove and a can of fuel, also from Walmart or any outdoor store. I use one backpacking. They are super cheap on Amazon and will boil water quicker than you can say it.
I bought this one, comes with everything you need but fuel:

Now a camping stove is very different as the flames are usually much larger and cannot be easily controlled like a gas stove. I wouldn’t recommend a camping stove inside the truck or a home. There’s also the smoke that is produced, which is bad to breathe in.Last edited: Mar 16, 2020
