True. I’m Lucky after tax tag and taters to clear 700 a day

That's the old school way.
New drivers now live in total fear
Of the company they work for.JonJon78 Thanks this. -
All depends on the position. Company driver is told what to do and the company can replace them with ease with a person currently in orientation. Only option is to do it or quit/be fired.
But if you are leaser or an owner, you can refuse. In which case, the company is more likely to ASK if you would be willing to help out with local work for a bit.Linte_Loco Thanks this. -
Mileage pay is a scam to begin with, I swap back and forth to where ever the money is
I would take them up on their offer of cleaning the truck outridgerunner77 Thanks this. -
You youngsters have to understand that a company is not going to take a road unit and work local without charging the customer what the normal daily (average) revenue that it was generating. And most likely it is not getting passed down to the driver in your friends case. $hort runs pay great money because most hard core OTR drivers want nothing to do with them. To me it is work smarter, not harder. I go 300 miles a day for 1200 bucks all day long Monday thru Thursday then 3 day weekend living at the beach. Stop killing yourself trying to wear grooves in the asphalt and stop letting these companies use you like slaves.
TripleSix and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
A lot of these companies instill fear into these new drivers to make them if you pardon the term:”Be a sheep and take it up the ***!!”
Western flyer Thanks this.
