It seems that out of any job classification other than healthcare workers we truck drivers would be most likely to catch Coronavirus yet none of the drivers I am in contact with and none that they know have gotten sick. The roads and truck stops are more clogged than ever with semis and since I went back on the road three weeks ago I have not seen another driver so much as cough. You would think with the media coverage of how bad this bug is that we would be dropping like flies and ambulances would regularly be hauling drivers from the truck stops to the hospital. Is it just too early and all these things will soon come to pass or are we somehow collectively possessed of some degree of immunity since we are constantly moving around and being exposed to new germs all the time and therefore have superhuman immune systems? Something seems fishy.
Are drivers immune from Covid19?

Every time we slam the the truck stop crapper door, our immune systems get stronger. The things crawling on the surfaces there would make coronavirus run and find a safe place to infest. We truckers may be the key to finding the cure.
Be right back. Need to strengthen my immune system.mantana, FormalTrucker, 88228822 and 22 others Thank this. -
considering at least 2 or 3 drivers have reported they have it. I'd say no.

well that is just the ones on here. But to answer your "immune" question. It'd mean no drivers are not. lol

It’s the J dogs that make us immune!!!
But seriously. Many unreported cases I’m sure. Many just get it and get over it fairly easy.
And most drivers I see are being careful, as well at truck stops. It’s not perfect, but there is an effort on both sides. Us and stopsjoshuapowell61, FormalTrucker, Swedish Chef and 7 others Thank this. -

I have had it (Can't confirm because of lack of testing). Am finishing my recovery. Most folks will have mild to normal symptoms, some no symptoms (unfortunately we don't have adequate enough testing to know how big this number is). It's coming, as the pandemic spreads so will the amount of infected drivers. Some will die.
Worse, some will drive sick and spread the virus to others.joshuapowell61, Jenn72, Valuable Asset and 2 others Thank this. -
I think the reason your not seeing it effect us so much is because we are self quarantined. We spend most of our time by yourself. If you look at the general outbreak thy are in highly populated areas and places were crowds gather, not just in passing. Remember this is just getting started and because you don't hear about it doesn't mean it's not happening.

I keep dreading my wife or myself getting sick 2 or 3 thousand miles from home but that’s the job. If either one of us gets so much as a sniffle were making a beeline for home.
Just passing by, Linte_Loco and Muskie Thank this.
