Dang man, that's awful to hear about Swift. :biggrin_25511: I can't really say I'm at a very good job, though. I'm working at a hotel making only about $490 bi-weekly, having to deal with every ####### that comes in the door (some are nice), and ##### managers that aren't even native to this country. I can say, however, that it's better than not being employed, as every little penny helps in this economy.

I did not come here to get jumped or anything, just stating a fact for what i see. People are giving up jobs to come to Central. As anyone at Central can tell you, don't plan on making any money anytime soon here. They will tell you they have miles, but then you sit because they actually don't. We were sitting 3 days a week waiting on loads. With this economy, trucking is taking a hit as well as every other job. When Wayne first started, him and his teammate were getting 7000 miles a week. Now, JJ is lucky to get 4000 as a trainer?? Teams and trainers are always first to get miles because, 1 teams can go longer then solo and get the freight there faster and 2 trainers have to have those miles to get students in the trucks. If trainers are having trouble with miles, there are problems. Even dedicated seems to be having some problems with miles as well. I see all these people going in thinking this is gonna end their money problems, when in reality, it will get worse. I know i seen Widow say they had not gotten paid over $500 since he started or something like that. I thought dedicated would be good for Widow but it seems to be just as bad. I feel for her and her family because i know what they are going through. Out of Wayne's class, he was the only one left after 3 months. He was there for 9 months and called it quits. After the 800mile trip for the week, he had had it and came home. By the way, Wayne is a electrician by trade. As JJ said, you can ask for a new FM but, it doesn't mean you will get one. Wayne asked for one for a month and never got it. The woman was mean and nasty and wouldn't even bother messeging him back. He had to wait for the night crew to come in before he got a answer. Everyone complains about nights and weekend people, but they were better then who he had...lmao...Also, they tell you to bring $100 for food....I suggest more guys. It will cost you a lot more then what they say it does. If you are leaving jobs, do so where you have a chance to come back. Dragon did that and was lucky and got his job back when he returned home after being screwed by Central. Just read this thread all. If JJ is looking for a new company, something is really wrong at Central! Also, about the 1 year, who ever said 2 is right. Most companies want 2-10 years depending on who is hiring. I have seen ads from local companies and average is 4 years experience. As someone said...I think Central is a sinking ship. Jerry Moyes has already had to file bankrupcy on his hockey team, who knows what next. I see the same Central truck here every 2 weeks and sits for days. Don't know who it is, it is a woman driver. :) There used to be another but i think he quit. Just remember, once you are with Central, you are stuck for about 2 years. While out on the road with the trainer, talk to other central drivers when you stop. You can learn a lot about weather you wanna stay or go. While sitting in Colorado for 3 days, we talked to a few who were also sitting...lol...They were Coors guys and were sitting...I should have seen it then, but was too excited to see. There was one trucking company that the driver like and i cannot remember the name. Everyone we talked to gave it kudos. If i remember it i will let you all know but you had to have at least 6 months experience to get hired. I did enjoy my time out with Wayne...i got to see places i had never seen before, i got to spend a lot of time with him and even got to see a tornado form while going through a bad storm in Texas. It was amazing. Scary, but amazing. I wish you all luck. JJ, i hope you can find a good company to go to. Hopefully with 2 years behind ya, you find a company who knows how to keep ya rolling and is good to ya. Be safe all.

SScrab, the 1300 was miles not money....lol.....He never had over $700 for a week. At McDonalds here they are paying $12 an hour. You make more flipping burgers. For having to deal with people i say they deserve it...lmao...I worked in food before and people are really nasty to you.

Haha, yeah I knew it was the miles. I had meant that even at that, after taxes, it's still a tad bit more than what I get now, I guess depending on the cpm, lol. Yeah, a lot of people are definitely very snobby and not very nice at all. Some people are especially bad in the hotel business. Some complain about the smallest things that at times just don't make any sense. Thanks for the very helpful post! :biggrin_255:

Sometimes you have the rest of the day or you mite half to load up and go but when the miles are good then run hard you will always have some down time or time in between.

I don't think anyone intentionally jumped all over you!!

Some are getting decent miles, some aren't!

The economy is in a bad place right now and Central like any company are hurting as well!

They have had a lot of accidents and when I say a lot I mean a lot and new drivers with service failures, yeah this could be fixed by shutting down the training school and only hiring experienced drivers and paying them what there worth, but where do all the New guys and Gals go then for training?????????

As it is only about 3 in 50 will stay over the six months, some miss there families some get out with the trainer and realize its not a 9-5 job and they hate it.

The whole problem is the economy sucks and to many are doing it as a last resort and trucking is a life style not a Job as such.

They have no idea that they will sit at the meat patch for 10hrs waiting to be loaded, sit at a cold storage for 4 or 5hrs waiting to be unloaded and until the new guys actually do it they really have no idea what your talking about!

    Thanks for the well wishes:yes2557:
