MI specifically posts signs that state... "Weight Station Ramp overflow use shoulder". Don't blow past MI scales, they dont like it.

 

I won't stop in a travel lane or on the shoulder. If I get pulled over I'd tell the officer that I'd rather take the ticket then risk getting slammed into.

Nah. They don’t even chase you when the ramp isn’t full. Don’t believe all the stories.

 

I used to do that at Washington scales. Specially that one at the border on 82. When it got it's camera. Then I started taking that exit before the scale and bypassing.

Trucks blow cali all the time. Full ramp or not. Never saw one get chased. At any scale.

 

Its funny how when YOU need to pull over on the shoulder its a crime and a safety hazard, the only thing ive ever been ticketed for actually. but when they setup a shakedown, exceptions can be made. We'll get you whether youre comin or goin sort of thing.

 

Same here, in Ohio. They DO sometimes get paperwork caught up, however. I've heard.
