When I hear the term "glider", I am thinking about an aircraft with no mechanical propulsion (no engine)......
That said, what's a "glider kit"?
Lol

Maybe a one time use tractor trailer that falls apart after the load is delivered. The driver is then directed to assemble his next TT and go deliver another load.
We used to build kites with wood and newspaper with glue. Sometimes the winds shred them. Im not sure if I can still remember how to build a kite today, probably. But the fine skills has been lost and will have to be relearned.
We already are running what is essentially disposable trucks. So...D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
When I was a kid, my dad and I were into remote control airplanes..... had a lot of friends who did a lot in the motion picture industry (one guy was an advisor on Black Sheep Squadron because he was was actually on it; someone else did Memphis Belle because he flew many of those missions; another guy designed, built, and flew the plane used for Firefox... he also provided models and pilots for movies like Iron Eagle and Top Gun).....
The army recycled the number for my MOS (when I was in, it was Pershing missile crewmember) to Unmanned Aerial Vehicle technician.... I was qualified for that when I was 10 years old... lolD.Tibbitt, 650cat425, homeskillet and 2 others Thank this. -
I don't know why we did not continue with the radio controlled stuff. Maybe due to the expenses. (Have you priced some of that stuff today? ouch)
However I also follow with some degree of interest what we are looking to do in the Mlitary with robot planes and so on. Our interests revolved around trains in general and the computer stuff that they are equipped with now with the control possibilites and so on is really something. (And a price to match)
Trucks? Those are easy. Until you add in all the computer stuff mandated by regulations. Then it's not so easy anymore. And thats a shame. If you handed me say a 1943 I think 587 model Pete I would be all over it. If you handed me a 2021 680 pete I would be less joyful because it's more of a headache to keep up whats all thats on it. -
