I have no idea whats the best truck to buy. I own a 07 Freightliner Century been a great truck mechanically. Doesn't cost much to keep up. It's not pretty but been a good starter truck. I personally would not buy a glider. For sure not the newest ones out there. They were running them through like cattle at a sale barn and not doing good overhauls. I know a guy that owns a lot of Fitgerald Pete 389 trucks with the 12.7 detroit and they have given him nothing but headaches. He told me his next ones will all be brand new emission trucks.

Well that’s your guy you know and his fault for buying Fitzgerald gliders dude. Gliders are the way to go. Build it yourself like most people do and use cat motors. You can’t honestly preach that new trucks are better than gliders especially a Fitzgerald and Detroit.

if it were me!!!!!! a 379 6nz single turbo lets say around the year 2000 give or take or a 1993 or older 379 with a mechanical cat! a pre emmision twin turbo 379 would work also but hard to find a nice one on that budget
