Rochelle, IL - York, PA $2350 752 miles. So much I insisted on 3.5 dol per mile even, could not convince them...

Chambersburg, PA - Grand Rapids, MI - $900 560 miles. So much I insisted on 2 dol per mile even, could not convinve them.

Here I am ....nothing much better of out of here...

seeing some heavy arse water loads only.

This place - Grand Rapids, MI depresses me. I'll hang out here maybe an hour and 10 minutes more then
either I'll grab something this cheap to take me home or just deadhead empty to be ready to reload tomorrow or Friday.

    That's reality...here.

About the same as usual for me. Lost a day due to inspection problems at a recip so my planned 4 day week is basically 2 runs in 3 days. TN to Va. Beach and return. No relief supplies though I tried. No more money than usual though I tried.

About the usual truck traffic on my route and about the usual number of loads on the board.

I think the imminent " freight cliff " predicted by the experts is just another BS scam to get everyone to panic take loads, to keep the truck volume up, and the load rate down.

While I was sitting here I offered to haul heavy arse water out of Stanwood, MI to WM DC Tomah, WI for $1000 - they counter offered with $800.. $900 was out of question too.I said that I would dwell on it...and call them back....it is gone already.
I offered to haul a heavy arse salt load out of Hersey, MI to Ft. Atkinson, WI for even $800.00 I felt like I prostituted myself enough already. They counter offered with $700 and I said I would consider and call back...it is gone.
    So on. So on....

I feel like like I want to yell like a mad man.:mad::mad: Or go home and have a nice crispy drink :D:D:D...I mean I could be home in less 4 hours.....unless I'll keep hanging here waiting for a miracle to happen.

Not sure how it's looking for everyone else. My freight's been going for about the same rates for the past three months, and the volume's starting to pick up a bit.

Waiting to get unloaded in Portland at the moment. I have a return load with my contract freight, but just glancing at the load boards and apps for the last week, I've been noticing the loads out of the PNW are slacking off. Rates dropping and just the general volume of outbound loads is way down up here.

I don't think it is as extreme yet. However, given the seriousness of the situation, there is still quite capacity available. FMCSA is making all the efforts to secure it too. First they made the HOS waiver, then MC Authority waiver and a few days ago, they waived the requirement of learning permit students to be accompanied by their CDL instructor overseeing them from the front seat while they haul emergency cargo. The CDL instructor still has to be present in the cab. Is is a big deal? I am not sure but looks like we are not much better than a proverbial cannon fodder, as seen from the FMCSA perspective,
