I remember being the newest guy in dispatch and having the task of cleaning out the permit books for the team trucks...

I remember dad's story story of hauling from a brewery in Allentown, Pa in the early 50's. As he is closing the doors, out comes a boss with his papers and a case of beer that he put on the passenger floor as he told him to be sure to stop at the 'stateline' dinner for coffee. He watched the truck as the local PD drive up and exchanged his case of empty bottles for the full case.....
