Hey guys, wondering if anyone can shed some light for me. Has anyone ever removed or replaced thier aerocab bunk? I am wanting to swap my 62" for the smaller 38" on my winch tractor and am wondering what is all involved and if it is fairly straight forward. Any help would be great. thanks

Not as bad as you would think,

Used 60" high roof constellation series sleeper $1500 us

Shipping half way around the world $2000us

Fitting to day cab $5500 nzd thats about $3200usd

So all up its about $7k usd

Large sleeper cabs on trucks with hoods are as rare as rocking horse crap over here,I want something a bit different.

I wouldn't think it would be too bad. I've got a 62" I thought about selling and a guy interested wanted a longer wheelbase daycab for a tank truck. He said he could have the dealer do the swap for almost nothing in exchange for the sleeper. They said newer sleepers in good condition are harder to find. Most that get removed are old or wrecked trucks so there was a good market for them. Over here the 38" sleeper is rare, I've had 3 of them (drivers never use them, they just wanted the room before KW had the extended day cabs) and they sell easy.

Why do you want to go to a 38 from the 62 our whole fleet of winch tractors have the 38 on them and we are thinking about going to the 62 just wondering if the visibility is not good out the back window when loading with that big shack. who is it rigged by all of ours are rigged by airco out of Acheson. Just because I am Curious

Hey haulhand, reason i want to change is because i have a 244 wheelbase w900B and that doesnt leave much room for me behind winch to the trailer. its been my only peeve about this truck. and the other thing is i dont really need the space. only out of town occasionally and 38 would be lots and free up some space.wanna trade? ha ha. mine s charcoal grey w/ light grey diamond interior.

should be a pretty easy swap you will have to get the rear crossmember from the donor truck and install after that it should be an easy bolt up
