In SOME ways, I agree with you.. I drove for an O/O much of my career; never made the quantum leap. Good, bad, never know. Still kick my own arse, but not as of late.
MANY of the 'set and settled' companies (non mega essentials, of course) are in FACT looking for MATURE drivers...to just jump in and git'r'done. Privvies and policies on the back burner. Just from what I've seen, in MY neck of the woods..
I get your concept, though. Location, location. Company size, notwithstanding.Western flyer Thanks this. -
So did they shut down all of the RV factories in Elkhart county? Like I said I used to haul Forest River units out of there for a smaller company so I am curious if that is still up an running or if it turned into a total bloodbath overnight. I know RV's were already down about 20% last year from 2018.G13Tomcat Thanks this.

Not sure where you live. But with the amount of hazmat tanker experience you have. You should continue in that realm of trucking. However the normal big 3rd party carriers shouldn't be on your mind. Private carriers are alot better sometimes. Some of these places are still hiring now. Try companies like
Air Products
Linde/Praxair (they merged last year)
Lonza
Univar
Clean Harbors
Nalco
Suez
And even some 3rd party bulk carriers are still hiring. And paying 80k-95k p/yr without fully being OTR.
Ergon
Heniff
And a few others are out and back 5-6.5 days then home for your 34.
I dont like working for outfits that dont pay for everything you do. But in the times we're in now. You cant be too picky.
And as stated earlier in the thread. Walmart transportation is hiring. And after talking to former co workers there. They are wide open right now.
Work the internet and find a decent outfit. You dont have to settle for less.
Drop your location and we can help you out with decent paying company recommendations.asphaltreptile311 and G13Tomcat Thank this. -

Yes. Most of the RV factories have closed up.

Thought it might be a little too controversial with everything that’s going on .

Averitt Express keeps advertising however due to the covid virus they are not bringing anyone in for orientation until further notice. They start at .46 cpm and around 1800 to 2400 miles per week but this shut down is hurting the entire industry . Only God knows when it will get better, good luck !
