Dry wood (wet wood is a conductor) and glass (insulators used to be made of glass) are Dielectric......

I think how this works is when used on higher voltage/amp situations the voltage/amp doesn't drop enough to affect the end user. An example might be a radio needs 11 to 14 volts to run safely. There is some lead way.
In a possible corrosion makeing enviorment this would be the choice way as corrosion might take voltage/amps down to nothing in short order.
On small voltage/amp wiring it would not let enough pass threw to work.. like RF grounds, etc.

This is used on electrical connection to stop corrosion. When two disimilar metals are put together they form a galvanic corrosion situation. This grease stops the electro galvanic corosion and keeps the conections from forming corosive situation. It doesn't cut the electrical properties of the conection just stops the corrosion. It is used in all high voltage conections and does help in light bulb sockets inthings like trailers and auto light bulb sockets.

also used by many when installing a radio/antenna set up in a vehicle.
Every threaded connection gets a small dab, also the antenna threads that connect to the mount stud.

Helps with corrosion by keeping out the moisture.

Also you will notice if you buy marker lights the plug pins usually have a little grease on them from the factory. I use either that or the yellow electrical joint compound (forget who makes it) on battery terminals.
