I have read through this entire thread from A to Z and feel like I have a much better idea of what to expect! Much thanks to all who have posted and educated me!
Unless I am missing somethings, it looks like the hiring and onboarding processess have changed dramatically and have been expedited greatly.
Here's what I was told after successfully passing the phone interview last Wednesday. I will report to Hermiston, OR. a week from this Monday, actually they said to drive my own vehicle and arrive Sunday night. Then 4 days of onboarding, including a drug screen and passsing all the WM pre-trip and driving tests. Then drive back home Thursday evening and take Friday through Sunday off. Followed by reporting at a TBA time on Monday at the drop yard in Centralia, WA. Some computer work and then out with a driver trainer or trainers and then on my own. A DOT pysical will occur once I get to Centralia.
I was told that once I'm ready to be on my own that I will have a choice of 5/2 or 6/2 shifts.
I know that this doens't jive with history but this is what I was told and I also understand that there are variations in SOP's between DC's...

We'll see...the recruiter also said they are setting up some 5/5's and 6/3's. He also said they have 30 WM drivers working out of Centralia and are adding 100 more.

you work 5.5 days. off 3 days. its a rotating schedule. same as a 5/2-5/3 except you have 3 days off and you work 5.5 days. both have rotating weekends. you share trucks with other drivers. the 6/3 is the most liked

Is the Seymour Indiana location a good DC to work out of? It's the closest DC to me that's hiring. I'm ultimately wanting to transfer to Hopkinsville, since it's the absolute closest DC to me. I'm willing to do Seymour for a year if in fact I do get hired.
