Why be later after pulled over for speeding?

While I don't agree with speed limiters. I also see no reason for a truck to go faster the 75. EVER. I've been around the block a time or two and have never needed that kind of speed. It is after all a piece of industrial equipment. Not a race car.
73 FJ40 Thanks this. -
My current gig sets their trucks at 67. Fast enough to dispose of most non-O/O truck traffic yet not fast enough to get tickets, at least in the northeast. Sometimes I'd like a touch more to get a drive up a hill or escape a pesky UPS double set (oddly they seem to be governed around 68-70, along with Fedex), but for the most part its good.
On top of that, our FL Columbias with 14L Detroits seem to get 7-7.25 mpg avg per trip at 67, pulling a 25-30k load out and an empty back. -
I rolled down the hill on I-4 in a '73 GMC Astro with a 318 Detroit and 13 speed # 87MPH too fast! Did I mention the 8100 gallons of Jet A in the tanker?

I will be happy to trod along below 70 now. -
Ours are set at 75 on cruise and 80 on the foot feed. That being said i usually run between 62 and 65. That is where it gets the best mpg.

Why above 65? For one thing, there are a lot of places the speed limit is 75, so you are impeding the flow of traffic.
Like has been mentioned, it is nice to have for passing as well as the bottom of a big hill... Just my .02 worth. -
Because I am an AMERICAN #### IT!!!SpeedyWho Thanks this.
