Money for school

I don't need a prehire to get the schooling money here in TN. And it is federal funds.

IIRC if you are a vet you get hiring preference!

I wouldn't waste the GI bill on trucking school. Check local state or county tech schools.

 

.....provided you're ON unemployment. You also cannot make more than a certain amount as a family. So, if you have a job that doesn't pay you much, and your spouse works, you're S.O.L.

Unless you know somethng I don't. I've made very little money in the last 18 months. However, I've never collected unemployment. My wife also has a good job that pays her well. I have not been able to get a grant. I realize he's asking about the G.I. Bill, but I'm curious what you know? Do you have info that I don't that would affect my ability to get a grant? I live in Texas. Thanks!

 

I was fired from my job. I have protested it. I am still eligible for the retraining.

i am getting funding through WIA for training. have my final appointment with them on wed. there is alot of paperwork and a 2 hr test to qualify. i was laid off from an auto parts plant.

 

got my approval from WIA today and should be starting school in 2 weeks!
