How to run a wire from inside of a cab out to the back???

All u need is a hammer and a drill. Just smash the dash where u want the wire to come through. Then drill a big hole in the center of the cab floor. It can double as a port-a-pot if it's a big enough hole.

Just a 3 lb sledgehammer, and a 3" left handed drill bit. That's all u need

 

Do you not have a dead switch in your dash?

If it is an International, it has a hole , if you can't find it , run a wire out where the trailer plug in is.

 

I’ve always thought about having a rear camera, but the ones I’ve seen were not designed to aid semi trailers when backing. I wonder how would the camera or cameras need to be placed to make this work for truckers.

 

If on a van, maybe just below the 3 center lights? On newer trailers there should be enough room for a 1.5" square camera tipped down at about 45°. The tough part would be keeping it positioned properly.
