I have had the air hanger on my 2020 Freightliner Cascadia break twice. I have had the red air line break two or, perhaps, three times.

During all the times when my red air lines broke, I was doing U-turns. During all the times when my air lines hangers broke, I was doing U-turns.

Years ago when I drove year 2016 and older Freightliner Cascadias, I never had the air hanger break, and I never had the air lines break when I was doing a U-turn. Is there some sort of design flaw in 2020 Freightliner Cascadias that causes the air hangers to break and the red air lines to break during U-turns?

It sounds like the spring is not long enough. Poly lines are bad to break especially in the winter.
    Switch to rubber lines.

I'm guessing you have straight, not coiled, airlines and your airlines are not long enough for you to u-turn. Get longer straight airlines or replace them with coiled airlines that can stretch, or stop doing u-turns.

All truckers have to do U-turns from time to time.

Just have to spec out your airlines. I keep my fifth wheel on 3rd square closest to cab. Have lines wrapped with a black braiding wrap. 2 rappelling hooks on the slider bar. I can go into a uturn so sharp that tandems roll backwards. Nothing snags, nothing over stretches or pops off.Once you get it set up lines shouldnt be laying on the catwalk either.Keep in mind with a heavy load, turning Too tight can cause tandems to roll back and Snap a lug nut.

If doing a u-turn breaks your airlines, I'd find another option.

You can buy the 15’ coiled lines. I keep new brass ferrules. They usually break at glad hand. Easy fix. .15cents for a compression ferrule. 10 minute job. I’ve had to fix my old lines a couple times. Saving up my pennies for solid rubber lines, with re usable ends. Same principle. Cut a little off the ends, if needed and re use.

If your air connections are on the left side of the front of the trailer, turn left to do u-turns, that way the air hoses do not have to reach as far.
