This is a much more interesting video. A complete tear down, and a detailed rebuild using many new parts. The engine is an 800 hp “off road” for a show truck. Wink!

I’ll probably go with a 78 - 1.32 turbo no wastgated , maybe do a fuel temp mod and see how it handles. I’m always a bit in unsure about getting to much HP with pulling 140,000lbs in the rolling hills with which seems to always be windy as well, trucks always working hard to keep things rolling.

I know some guys that run C18’s up here, they love the power that’s for sure but feel they hesitate to talk fuel mileage. Lol

Yeah, I've seen this fellas videos. And he certainly does seem knowledgeable on the E-Cats and C-15's.
But, it seemed a bit odd to me. Why, in one video, he intentionally destroyed what seemed to me a decent running older detroit.
Yeah, I'd stick with Mr. Haney!!
That kid 3406, or whatever, has some groing up to do

Burley did you ever get that 78 1.32 turbo ? I run one on a 6TS 3406e with 58 injectors and a 601 file and I have mixed feelings about it. Sometimes spools great other times not so much. Also I’m not sure if I have some sort of issue going on with mine or if it’s the increased are flow going through the pipes but anything over 35 lbs makes a strange screeching noise.

Screeching noise is most likely a boost leak. Also ... you are running big squirts, and a big file, on what is probably too small of a turbo. If you were not leaking boost ... I am sure you would be in the danger zone for lifting the head. What are your egt's like? May want to up your housing to a 1.45

Egts never go above 1000* on a hard long pull and are 7 750* cruising down the road. I was looking at ordering the bigger housing because the turbo surges a lot down bottom

Borg warner non waste gates 78mm with 1.45 rear housing. set of 58s (2113024) injectors and 7cz 600hp file it will make 550-580 to the grounds. fit 180F thermostats and it'll be good as gold.

I haven’t had any issues, my boost went from 31 to 35psi and there’s nothing I can do to get my pyro past 900f so pretty happy with it. but I do get a screeching noise when one of my boot clamps gets a bit loose.

Appreciate the feedback. Thinking I might be due for injectors soon and am thinking about getting the 58’s, still running the modified 550 file which brings it to 580hp. I know it sounds odd but hauling heavy the engine has to work hard and adding HP I know it’ll be used and am always worried about having the engine fail prematurely, or am I just paranoid?
