I know this is a Prime Inc bashing thread but it's bigger than Prime.

This is an industry problem and something should've been done decades ago. There is no system to get people really ready for whats in store for them. If you want to be a mechanic or a auto body person. You don't pay 7k for a three week crash course down at the local trade school and then get tossed into a job. It takes years of schooling to be able to turn a wrench or spray a car and even when you graduate. It's not like Joe's paint and body is letting some dude fresh out of school paint his best customers cars. Perhaps Maaco is doing so but you get what you pay for.

Prime Inc system isn't perfect and imo the team crap needs to end, but out of the places doing this. They do give one on one and it is one of the longest. IMO it isn't long enough and the 50k or 60k mileage thing shouldn't be total truck mileage but what the trainee spins.

You got CRST crowding a truck with people at their wannabe training school. Then once these people can barely pass a driving test. They throw 2 of them into a team truck and send them on their way.

Just look at the entitled super trucker in the OP. Guy bashing a company because he is wrapping his trailer around poles in a Wal-Mart parking lot. Getting 2 other warnings for psycho driving but is pissed because they want him to do 20,000 more miles. That pole in the parking lot could've been any driver in Americas worst nightmare. Crawling out his bunk or walking back to his truck and seeing Darkstar45 couldn't see your hood and clipped you.

There is a thing called the internet and it has been around for sometime. This thread could easily be a CRST or whatever other company bash thread. Frankly it wouldn't matter because it's always somebody else and not you.

You picked Prime for whatever reason. You did zero research going in because you didn't even create an account here until 20 days prior to bashing the company that gave you a chance to drive truck.

This is a starter company and who goes in thinking their going to get rich while learning to drive? Let's cover this slave term you slung out there. For an entire month at the terminal. They gave you a free roof over your head for the duration. They fed you three times a day for free and gave you everything needed to pass your CDL for free. They paid for you to come there and if you came broke. They give an option for a 200 advance a week if needed. With the commitment from you to pay them back 25 a week.

Plus for the 1st 50k miles they gave you 700 a week minus the 25 deduction. Then the last 10k miles they paid you 800 a week minus the 25 deduction. You swiped a pole in Wal-Mart then got two psycho warnings. They wanted you to do 20k more miles while paying you 800 a week. Seems like slavery for sure. Considering the fact you could've left at anytime after getting your CDL.

At anytime you can also get a new trainer. They also tell you not to give your trainer your e-log credentials. They ask for 1 year of service for the opportunity that they gave you. Now you could've went anywhere else and i doubt seriously it would've been better because just in my time doing a comb over on this rare internet thing. I see plenty of companies that don't give you half the things Prime does. It's a starter job man and you do what is needed to get past that one year mark. You gave your word that you would hold up your end.

You could've also went to truck driver school but i am pretty sure why you didn't. You either didn't have the money or you had something on your DL that a driving school isn't allowed to look past.

Speaking of driving school. It cost 3k to 7k plus you have to pay for transportation, room and food. If you don't happen to live next door to it. Then when you come out your going to be signing with companies that will be doing a trainer thing just like Prime.

You're going to fit in well with the vast majority of the guys in this industry. Full of #### and blaming everyone else.

Easy to see your attempt to cheaply humiliate the guy and nice try to clear Prime dirty name. I would believe you if you be able to shut the mouth of 5 experienced guys at a truck stop after hard working day. Everyone knows Prime is scavenger and will eat anyones flesh who ever steps in on their property. There are reasons why this guy felt this way and the reason is - Prime abuse students, uses them to max from the start with experienced driver so the students eyes are rolling like a he is in the tub with boiled water. You with your post only proved to everyone around you here that people with this type of attitude like yours are the killers of the industry, you dont give a crap about anyone, that same attitude Prime has, so perfect match keep on sitting in your chair and dispatch students.
Prime has 7000 trucks, in US there is around 3 million truck drivers, so you see what a drop in the ocean this company is?They are not the only one but they want to be. Prime business model is to prosper on dummy students, they used to take 250 people or more each week as students, it is more than 1000 people per month, so they suppose to be largest carrier in US just in the matter of 2 years based on this numbers, but everyone is leaving, turnover is almost 100%, although officially they claim it is 70% only. So why people are leaving? they are getting ripped off and hammered with 1$ per mile rates all the time. By driving for Prime you already are a problem for Prime because they want product hauled but they don't want pay you and they don't pay, so people leave.Lies, lies, lies, that the way to prosperity. Everyone knows Primes game, if you smart you will never work there because trucking does not belong to Prime, they trying to make it their own but it will never happen. They lost so many contracts to other fleets.
They have to be on a TV program called American Greed.
Overall Prime is wonderful, i love Prime, but only to start, will be very difficult for students, at the start, but once you get used to eat that crap they give you, leave it, and never look back, Prime don't need drivers to continue, they bounced their money back and you are free to go after 1 year, that their business model.Thank you for your time.

Wow, this post is hard to read. Whats killing this industry is the ignorance and self entitlement the OP displayed and yourself. Nothing you stated in this drivel comes to any value or shows any facts. It's just the same ole pile on from people who most likely never even worked at Prime or were oblivious to doing any type of research or didn't put in the work.

It's a training mega fleet and nothing more. You are a fool if you never drove a truck and think that you should be making big money. You are a fool if you think you can take on a lease with a grand total of 30k miles and 12 weeks of actual driving under your belt. Plenty of guys fail buying trucks through a bank with 5 plus years exp. What makes anyone with zero exp think they should be paid a lot or can succeed at a LP?

I don't believe the trainer should be sleeping while the trainee drives or vice versus, but then people would really be crying that it's to long and that their doing all the driving. While the trainer just sits and watches but gets all the money. Your getting paid 700 to 800 week to learn. Do you think anyone going to community college for a trade is making 700 to 800 week for their time learning to become a mechanic? How about interns getting paid zero dollars after college just trying to get their foot in the door chasing coffee and whatnot.

The OP is butt hurt because they smashed a trailer into a pole in an open parking lot. Got two violations recorded and Prime wanted them to do 20k more miles training. God forbid somebody with a grand total of maybe 30k miles under their belt does anymore training after having 3 incidents. They take no responsibility of their own and deflect everything back at the company. They even start with the NAM stories that other driver spew.

Morale of the story is do your research. Then do even more research and don't listen to recruiters. Understand that your a noob and that 1st year will most likely be a tough one but you will be stronger for doing it. You will have to do a lot and sacrifice more than you care too, but it all will pay off. Learn the game and make the next job you take payoff for that 1st year.
