Well there are some things that could help people in answering your question:

What are the gauges saying when it happens? Anything dropping to zero or pegging?

You can also go through the engine bay and start checking connections, maybe you just have a lose one on a sensor. Because you mentioned rain see if water is down in a connector.

The behavior you're describing now is pretty much exactly what the engine protection features of most electronic engines do these days so I'm going to assume the engine protection feature is kicking in which could be any number of items such as oil pressure, temperature, etc. So you could actually have low oil or coolant, or just a bad sensor. If its a 2007 emissions level engine maybe the DPF is clogged?

The easiest thing to do is get it into a shop and have them plug in.

Ok, your going to have to get the fault codes out of it, no if and or buts about it. If not you are just going to chase your tail and waste a lot of time.

343 is an internal error in the ECM. The fault processor monitors the output of the injectors and communicates any faults to the main ECM processor. This code can be caused by electrical noise outside the engine. A faulty alternator, bad, or intermittent grounds, water intrusion into the ECM, water in connectors, loose connectors can cause this code.

321 ECM has detected voltage returning from injector #4 when the ECM isn't powering #4. This is usually a short in the injector harness either outside the engine or under the rocker cover. ECM will derate the engine and limit RPM to 1400. Basically inspect for wires rubbed through.
