Personally, as a driver, I have worked for them for almost 1 year until I just couldn't take the crap anymore. When I started, I worked for a terminal in Tulsa, Ok and all seemed ok there for awhile, until freight sloooooowwwwwed waaaaay down, and they hired a new terminal manager there who has absolutely no clue how to treat drivers or office personell, so I transfered to the Roxana, Il terminal thinking it would be much better. It wasnt, no freight, poor management and dispatching and no payroll concern. If you have a pay problem, if you call the main office payroll, they tell you to call your terminal. If you have a problem with how things are going and treatment, and you talk to your manager, forget calling the main office, they tell you to call your manager. The "bigwigs" who own, run and generally steal Transwood, Inc, are the most driver unfriendly people I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. The payroll, is uneducated, weeks behind in pay, and when they do pay, it is often wrong. They also don't like to advance you road money if you should need it for expenses related to driving the truck, if your hungary, your SOL. I could go on and on about how Mr. Transwood runs his chemical tank business, which I see as shoddy, unprofessional, and downright unprofessional. Ive been looked at by shippers and recievers with disgust because of what practices and poor drivers havedone in the past. If you hear of this "ragtag" outfit, and are thinking of going there, DON'T!!!! You will only end up broke, hungary, and probably lose your lifesavings and home or anything else you may have by working for them. The trucks are in poor shape(mine was an example) and if you write it up, it may or may not get repaired properly. The truck was in such bad shape, it was a wonder how it even made it down the road, because the mechanics in Roxana are so uneducated about trucks it isnt even funny. One mechanic there didnt even have his own tools, broke most of what he touched, and didnt care. All in all, i was so unimpressed with this outfit, I am extremely dissappointed with my decision to go there in the first place.:dontknow: You can be sure that the next job I take will have been researched much more carefully. Good luck to all the professional drivers out there and God Bless you and your families in these hard times.

It has come to my attention, that my post was not appreciated by the people at Transwood, Inc. So therefore, this post is aimed directly at you Mr. Roger Itis! I do have friends and people I know in this business, and what is said around does eventually come back to me. If you had a comment, why don't you have the respect and courtesy to contact me, if you think it was me who posted the comment in the first place? It goes to show me that what I said is true, you people have no respect, or even any sense. Instead of taking what was said as "constructive critisism" and use the opinions, which is what they are, to make Transwood a better place to work for all drivers, new and current drivers, you choose to send emails to individuals that they should have fired me instead of working with me. It is my belief now that everything that was done at the Tulsa terminal may have not all been the terminal managers doing, but more likely, pressured to act and do certain things to keep you people happy. He may have had some faults, but was at least trying to make some things better and company management puts its thumb on those who think and believe what management does not. If you all had the capacity to see what was, you would see that the way business is handled, and driver treatment is why all the good, safe, responsible, didn't have to be babysitted quality drivers quit. All you have left is flunky ####### drivers who can't do the job asked, and that is what you seem to hire for cheap $ instead of paying more money for a truely qualified tanker operator. It takes someone special to be able to do that type of work consistently, without failure, accidents, spills, claims, ect day in and day out. You lost business from Cadet in Mo, Baker Petrolite in Tulsa, Freightliner in Tulsa and various other businesses because of who and what you are as a company. And as well, I hear through the grapevine, that Tulsa no longer gets "time sensitive" freight because the drivers that remain there cannot make the appointments because they don't have the experience or choose to take a nap instead of getting to the customer on time. You reap what you sow in this business, Mr. Itis. Whether or not you realize it, Transwoods impression is not good in Tulsa, and I know that because Ive dealt with many businesses there that have said so in their opinion. The sad part of this is, I actually liked working there in Tulsa. Things just went south, and noone cares about it, or wants to listen when a driver wants to talk about a problem. Instead, you don't want to hear from drivers, you would just rather fire them, in my opinion, that makes Transwood a poor outfit to work for. Does anyone there have any idea how to run a trucking business? You load trucks to anywhere, USA, and instead of finding loads back, you deadhead them back for absolutely no revenue. How your managing to stay in business is beyond my comprehension. Example, I know a driver who just went to Ontario, Ca, and unloaded, yet is deadheading back to Tulsa instead of getting a load there. Stupid, just stupid. It is my opinion, that Transwood should go back to doing their cement business, and stay out of the tanking business, as you have absolutely no clue as to what your doing in it and have a poor reputation in it by many customers.

Personally I'd have to commend someone that is willing to DH me back to Tulsa rather than leave me sitting in Ontario for several days. I fail to see how this is a bad thing.

I hear what your saying, and I would agree, to a point. Its just that they do that consisently without even thinking of looking for freight, or maybe they cant get freight, I don't know which. But either way, as a business, you cant continue to deadhead trucks all over Gods green creation forever and stay in business. If you were to head out there, and for some unknown reason, a load fell thru or something unexplained happened that prevented you from getting a load and then the company said, we got nothing, come back. I could understand, has happened a few times. But to do it routinely as a practice, i just dont get it. The problem with them, is that they either have no freight guys to get freight or dont care on long runs.

I have worked in the industry for 36 years and am now retired, thank the gods. I have worked as driver, driver trainer, dispather, terminal manager, regional manager, general manager and also safety director.worked for Transwood for approx 4 years. As with all trking companies I have found you have to look at the big picture. As for Roger Ites yes he comes across as a complete a hole. But with all safety directors he has an exstemely demanding and stressful job to handle and if they seem to be an a hole than they are probably doing their job right. I found Transwoood management to be above average. In my 36 years I have seen many changes, to many college boys that do not now the industry and great numbers of drivers who have worst work ethic I have ever seen. I spent many years missing the good old days when drivers and management and the old school ethic of getting the job done right. A person has to keep in mind the economic situation and realize that many are just trying to keep afloat. That said I am not defending the terminals you have mentioned because I have no direct exposure to either. I do know Roger Ites went out on a limb for me on a couple of occasions when he probably shouldn't have done so. And having been involved with a multitude of companies I would still rate them well above average. All companies have good and bad management, terminals and drivers.and yes some are just plain horrible from top to bottom, ever work for Cryogenic Trans? One of the worst.

When I sold my truck in the late 90's, I sold it to a Transwood O/O. He liked the company, but that was many years ago. FWIW.
