Well just saw another Swifty jackknifed and blocking the Wbound lanes of I-20 at the 409 exit in Weatherford, Tx. This is just past the Petro. It had been raining, but still don't know how he managed this big a screwup. Looked like he must have swerved and lost it. Tractor was mashed into trailer on drivers side and was in the median and trailer was blocking road. I don' t think anyone was hurt. Got to remember to always take camera.:biggrin_25510:

I learned, years after starting out, that having a camera handy was a great thing.
Not only would it be a good way to document incidents/accidents (hints and allegations...), but it was a hobby that fit really well with the lifestyle.
Lots of photographers pay to travel to interesting places.

Hell... we go there anyway. Why not bring a camera?

Another thing that really helped was a bicycle. I could ride away from the truck stop, and had no parking issues with the bike, just remember to take a lock. Places like Georgetown, SC took on a whole new life when I visited with a bicycle and camera.

And... yeah... good to have it handy when that dingbat jerk puts it in a ditch.

My digital camera? I never leave home without it! (Seriously -- I carry it in my purse, and it's great for catching those spur-of-the-moment photos.)

I'm seriously considering finding an old rangefinder 35mm camera, with a 50/1.4 lens.
It doesn't have the lag problems of more portable point n shoot digitals, and I just like the funky coolness.
Besides, I miss my old darkroom. I'm thinking about just developing the film and running it through a slide scanner. That way I don't have to worry about the big hardware, like enlargers and big trays. I can just do the film in the guest bathroom.

Same here! After all, you've got to be ready in case the aliens decide to land right in front of you, with no witnesses.. :alien:

at my company we were issued cameras. You never ever know if or when you'll be in an accident and need photo proof of it....I also always carry my digital camera with me also as you never ever know when that really nice seat cover will come by :biggrin_255:

I always carry my digital . I had a Jeep break an axle right in front of me last year and it's rear wheel went right under my front bumper . Took pictures with the digital , went to the Flying J , end e-mailed them to the safety department from my laptop . Those company issued cameras might not give clear pics in poor lighting conditions . With a digital you know what you've got .
