Quick question: If I purchase a Rig in California over the internet. Flew in to inspect and pay. How do I get my new truck back to Kansas City.

Get them to give you a temp tag. Take your log book with you, and make sure you have all the paper work including Insurance papers and drive it home. As long as you are bob tailing you will not have any problems. Just don't try to pull a load or the temp tag will be worthless.
I have purchased a number of trucks out of state and flew in to pick them up and drove them home and never had any problems at all.

Hey Brothers, Thanks for the quick response. I should be picking my new (to me) girl up sometime this month. Can't wait to have my Kw T600. She's a 2005, but man is she pretty and good on fuel.

A dealer will give you a temp, but not sure if it's valid in other states. If nothing else, you can buy permits at POE in each state.

No tags needed. You have 72 hours to move the truck. Just keep your bill of sale.
But then again, all best are off when running through CA and the western states that require trip permits.

I had to buy fuel permits in each state, but besides that wasn't a big deal.

One state scale even green lighted me, but I knew I had to stop to get a permit. So, I actually stopped, on purpose, at a scale house, where I had the green light. :biggrin_2552:

I shouldn't have, there were no other scale houses open the rest of the way in that state, but I didn't know that before.

Smart man, buying a truck in California, i look at prices all the time, and the trucks here just keep getting cheaper, If i lived out of state, i would buy one here for sure.
