I've been turned down everywhere I go for a loan and I can't come up with the 3900 on my own for my local CDL school. I think my only other option is company sponsored training right now. Do you guys know of any good NC based companies that are offering training right now. If so, what kind of commitment am I making and what should I expect. I can travel to any state for training but I need a company that will put me near my home in NC for off time. I appreciate any feedback and advice.
Looking for company sponsored traing in NC.

Were you able you pay upfront or did you sign with a company before training?
-
No I paid for training up front and went to Trans Am

Just curious why you don't hit up a community college in your area that offers the course? -
Johnston Community College in Smithfield, NC offers CDL training classes, about the cheapest you will find around my part of NC.
kinnakeet04 Thanks this. -
Not sure how far Hudson NC is from you but Caldwell Community College has a very good CDL program. And for in state the total cost is around $750.00. Tyson out of North Wilksboro recruits out of this school and you could not ask for a better company to work for. Any way hope this helps..

I would not recommend company sponsored training. You sign up for that, and then it doesnt work out with that company and you want to change companies, you WILL be on the hook for several thousand dollars, they will hit your DAC, and you won't be a happy trucker. Get your training on your own. It sort of makes you a "free agent".kinnakeet04 Thanks this. -
I've looked into JCC and have heard great things about their program, but Smithfield isn't a commutable distance for me. The closest thing for me is the Sage program at Nash, but it's the one that I needed a loan for and got turned down. I keep hitting a wall every where I turn. I'm determined to make it work out some how though. Thanks for the advice.

If you're unemployeed you may qualify for the wia program. You can check that out at the unemployment office. If so they would pay for school and a hotel room for you, and I think they pay for some milage. Kinnokeet04 might know more about this than I do, not sure. JCC would be a very good choice for school.
