I just read your reply on there. T
If you're right, which I think you are, it would explain why he was initially thinking clutch... that shaft would echo right up thru the input.

Im pretty sure 4th and 9th are the same pair in the front box. So all the other gears are gonna be wiped off.

Tell him put it under his pillow and bankrupt the tooth fairy.

Not neccessarily. 4th/9th being direct, the input shaft and mainshaft are locked together. Straight thru to the auxillary box. Those would be the only 2 gears that don't utilize the countershafts to transmit torque. Not saying its impossible but it is extremely unlikely you'd peel the teeth off the majority of the gears at the same time. I can't see it breaking all the countershaft keys or 5 out of 6 mainshaft key positions either.

Either way it'd be interesting to see what happened there. Unfortunately it probably won't be a cheap fix.

Some time ago I took a bag of goodies for a special lady friend in the home 20. A colorful girls t shirt from a Loves near Big Spring. A bracelet with her name from the USA truck stop in Laredo. Also some stud type silver and turquoise earrings from a place in Arizona. And one of the little Indian kid dolls they have at Petro/TA. The doll was for her seven year old daughter. Later I asked her if her kid liked the doll. She said she lit up like Christmas when she saw it. And she has a special place for it on her shelf.

Several months earlier, my girls father passed away. The little girl adored her Grandpa. She has the doll sitting next to his picture "So the arrows of the plains can protect him."
I already bought a second doll identical to it. I set it up like this so the arrows can protect me as well. Screenshot_20200422-181943~2.png

    Wow! That's a catastrophic failure!

I put a new PTO on a vac truck as per the company's PM plan. Found a chewed up snap ring on the bottom of the case. Got told to slam it back together because it was needed ASAP on a job in the morning. Back it out of the shop and it was stuck in reverse, even with the stick in neutral. Messed with it a bit and got it in neutral. Managed to duplicate the issue in most gears. Tagged it out and said the transmission needed to come out. Well they decided to send it to the main shop, 7 hours away because we were swamped. Told them it better be going on a lowbed because it won't make it there. They ended up having a guy to drive it south. He made it about 90 minutes down the highway. First major hill (this is the prairies so its not very steep) she blew apart all over the highway. Lower countershaft blew right out of the housing. Lowbed looks pretty cheap now compared to the core ya'll just lost on that 18 eh?
