Some car insurance carriers are refunding a percentage of the premium because nobody is driving, or driving much less.

For reference I thought I'd check the loadboard of a brokerage I had been running quite a few loads for (from & to) in the past couple of years.
$1,100 on 500 miles. Not a big money maker, but decent for getting me where I wanted to go. The shipper had to shutdown for a couple of weeks, now they're up and running again.
The same $1,100 run is now $650. Since they can get someone to haul it for $650, can't say I blame them.Ruthless, Brettj3876 and PPLC Thank this. -
On a more positive note, I went through and adjusted my business operations spreadsheet to reflect what my current "fixed costs" are during this Wuhan Flu/Coronavirus/COVID-19/Stay Home Save Lives/Worldwide Pandemic.
They are currently $200 a month LOLDale thompson and PPLC Thank this. -

I did the same yesterday. Actually, did total cost per mile for the last year reflecting my paid for equipment now. It did go down significantly. Makes 1.25 mile freight look better but doesn't make it look good.
I guess I'll try again Monday morning for 2 or 3 days out like the last 3 weeks. It amazes me that after all costs 2 or 3 days a week in this awful market is still the same net I was making after 25 years with a company.Dale thompson, PPLC and Scooter Jones Thank this.
