Sounds like me a few years back I had a judge with the 3 inch cylinder. This was the .45, .410, .454 model.
Losded it up and passed it to a buddy.
He got a nice surprise when the .454 came around.

If you can find them, volleyball knee pads work really well. I have a set I wear for training, or fires, if I think I'm going to be doing a lot of crawling. My old joints don't recover as fast as they used to.

HellifIknow.? All I can tell you is it grows like 40' tall, it constantly sprouts new ones, & I absolutely despise it..

I believe mine is the clumping Bambusa? When new ones pop up, they are only usually 6 inches or so from an existing stalk..

I always thought they were just wood lanes sitting on a concrete floor. Guess I learned something new today. :thumbright:

Bamboo is the pits to get rid of. You have to keep digging out the roots as it comes back. I did some research and the recommendations to keep it from spreading included burying a 24-28" wood or steel barrier vertically in the ground. This far down, the roots won't travel outside of it and keep spreading.
Our biggest problem is the location of the stand. There's a phone pedestal on one side and another just across the street. For some reason, Ma Bell decided there needed to be a buried phone line between them. The bamboo is right on top of the line.I can keep it from spreading North and South, but not East and West.
This image is from before we bought the house almost 3 years ago. It's about twice as long now as it is in the picture. The split rail fence to the right of it only has 1 section now. If you move to the right, you'll see the other pedestal across the street.
