Definitely not, but I have done enough Sabra/Halls in my time at Abilene to have passed through "The Vince" a few times.

This broker load picked up in the middle of bumfukt CA. Never been to this place and followed signs saying pull onto scale. Guard waved at me and I mistook her to come straight to guard shack. She meant stop because outbound have right of way to the scale. They oughta put a sign up saying outbound has right of way. Had to turn around go back all the way out and turn around and come back in. A sign goes a long way.....

Working the “important contract” at Publix... they prefer we don’t take home time during this obligation... ok... we get paid for every day we report even if they don’t have a load... ok... this “important contract” been extended but I served my Tour of Duty and I’m returning to OTR... ok... oops, we need drivers on the extension to this “important contract”, can you stay on? ok... hey, the contract might be extended again, if it does, can you move your hometime back as you know they don’t want people taking home time during this “important contract”... ok... nevermind, it ends Friday... ok... oops, make that Monday, can you stay on to complete this “important contract”? ... ok...

    been pretty flexible and accommodating...

Get the Driver Settlement Sheet... paid for only 13 days, not 14 days... I guess they are not paying for Easter Sunday even if we were parked on an abandoned Publix lot willing and able to drive ... and no need of a 34 reset...

DM suggest trying for Detention and see.

Something about not getting paid for a day in the middle of a six week commitment with no home time when I was ready willing and able to run, just seems to have burnt a bit of “goodwill” towards the next “important contract”...

    I sure hope it was worth $250... {shrug}

Do I regret running the Publix job, no, not really... a few tights spots (ok, several) but once I was up and running it seemed pretty smooth... my backing could always be polished and my wheels are rolling but I am getting tired of the city driving, etc.

    Back to OTR after Monday...
With a few days home time soon.

Headed to the house. I’ll be home 4 weeks to the day I left. I’ll have run the most miles in a month in 7 years here as a solo driver. It wasn’t all that bad self quarantining while I ran 16,400 miles. I’ll be in my house for a week. I’m confident that the country has enough spam and bootie wipes to last until I come back out.

Man, this place loading hp stuff in slc gave me most difficult dock.....blind side back around and next to a wall. Got it in one shot with one pull up though.....surprised......

I had a couple of Publix Docks like that...
with no space in front of the truck to maneuver.

But my blind side backing around corners isn’t on par with yours... lol... took me a bit of nose wiggling to get my hind quarters in place.

but in and out clean, so I’m ok with that.

Barn Door Bill and jarhead0311 Thank this.

So, after six weeks of touring Greater Florida in a Sleeper & 53’ Trailer, I’m heading to South Caroline for a few days of R&R... looking forward to enjoying a good recreational fire and a few too many adult beverages.

    stay safe

The desperation continues at Abilene: They're sending me to Oregon.

They better be careful. I could get used to this.
