If it were me I would focus on paying my personal bills before trying to rebuild an old truck.

Unless you know something about my personal bills that I don't know, I am relatively debt free... No money, but debt free LMAO. So, any extra money that I might come up with goes to the truck. :biggrin_25525:

PS if you're refering to my comment about not paying electric, etc. please believe me it was meant in jest.

When I get the thing DOT compliant I would like to run local and/or regional. I am knowledgeable enough to know the trucks too old and I haven't enough verifable driving experience for anyone to take us on. I will probably get my own authority and call on shippers that I used to talk to in my past life to see what I can get from them. I've also got a couple of people who will help me if I can compete on rates. Ahhhhh, rates... that magic word. :biggrin_25520:

Keep us posted about your truck and send pics. It's all interesting and good information for us who have the "fixer-upers" and "work in progress" trucks.

OK here's the scoop. No one needs to be a brain surgeon to realize things have come to a grinding halt here. My Dodge, which I need to pull my trailer around to horse shows, has taken a dive. First it was some gasket that just plain wore out and got loose which allowed oil to leak out everywhere. That was major surgery since the injector pump, computer and a few other things had to come out. $500+
The guy was bringing it over to the house and the turbo blew. $1500 give or take...
So things aren't moving quite as quickly as I'd like for them to. I am driving the Pete and it's running pretty well (knock on wood)

Just got back from the Big Iron Classic truck show in Kasson Mn. 809 miles from here. It was worth every mile I drove to get there. There were over 600 working trucks there. Every make, model and description was there. Saturday night was the truck pull and light show. Alex from Ice Road Truckers was there and as usuall he was very chatty and fun. Chrome Shop Mafia and Big Rig Chrome Shop to name a few. This show is 210% different from the show at Louisville. Down to earth at a little fair grounds. Great fun!!!

Sounds like you had a great time. Did you take any photos of some of the trucks?

I have some pics from the show, and I would suggest anyone who goes to Lousiville, DO NOT waste your time anymore. Kasson is the largest truck show in the Midwest. It's not about trophies or anything more then bringing your truck, and talking trucks, and having fun with old friends, new friends, etc. I know I have more fun there then any show I have attended, and I have attended A LOT of shows, from Diesel Dawgs first show in Pittsburg, to MATS, to Waupun, Kasson, Curtis, Carlisle, etc. The list goes on. I did take pics, but I'm not sure if I can post them or what as I just joined this forum.......Again, not taking away from Louisville, but most the trucks a person would want to see there are in the parking lots, also what makes louisville so big is the fact a ton of vendors are there.......The final numbers for Kasson look like this....
    462 trucks
    92 Combos
To this day, besides a private show that you need a invite too, and even that show isn't as big as kasson. If anyone can tell me a show where there is more then that many trucks, then tell me, but to my knowledge there is no other show with that many trucks.

Thank you to the people who throw Kasson together every year for truck nuts like me to be able to go and check out all the iron, and hang out with my friends I have met through the various trucking sites on the internet. Without the internet, I wouldn't know about half these shows, or have had the chance to call some of these guys friends.
