Yeah hell I’d try and do the same as any white male would. Doesn’t matter what gender or pigment. You gotta learn to do it on your own or in the long term you won’t make it anyway.

Technically I could give my wife 1% more ownership and try to piggy back off that but neither of us are interested.

 

yeah it irritates me too. i guess just because im a white male that grew up without two pennys to rub together and worked for every dime iv ever earned iv somehow had so much more of an advantage i get pushed to the back of the line on some state/federal road jobs. only thing i like about dbe's is hearing what a #### show the last road job was when i come back to some of my normal crews after they do a dbe job.

I can’t speak for him: if you want to make it, you need to expect to work your ### off for years without anyone appreciating what you’re doing. Ain’t nothing in this world for free if you work for a living. If you feel you have an advantage don’t lose sight of the fact you still gotta work hard at it to be successful.

When I’m in the top of the list after almost 30 years at the same place. And someone comes along with a minority owned company and boots me off the federal job and I do plant transfers or residential deliveries..... I’m pissed
