sherman bros is hiring for tanker, they run the east coast, I talked to them, but i've become a snob at 5 years tanker exp and i'm waiting to hear back from Neier inc, who is also hiring, (these are hazmat tanker jobs)B.J. Cecil still seems to be hiring. coastal transport is another.
AX transport is a fantastic looking flatbed job but they want a year of recent flatbed exp, I really wanted that job, but my flatbed exp is over 5 years old. and i'm personally starting to question the near future of flatbed, if this BS continues its going to be hurting.
Lynden transport is hiring according to a friend, and they go to alaska if you got a passport
Fuel hauling shouldn't be so bad, i know people are staying home but they're still fueling their cars, I got a former coworker in phx still hauling fuel, its slow but its still moving.
during these times we all (i need) to remember that so long as i'm still employed then I shouldn't complain.I think in these times we (I) need to sacrifice our (my) lust for money and start being as smart as a good escort can be and take the money where ever we can find it.
but my personal opinion is that hazmat and refer are going to be somewhat the safest areas to haul.
and I say this like someone on the titanic looking at a floating lounge cushion, but holding a good bottle of whisky.
look up Benjamin Guggenheim, he is a great inspiration for our age,
What is the demand for truck drivers right now, during the pandemic? Are they hiring?

oh and i'm hauling crude right now, if you are worried about where you're at, just remember, you could be an idiot who stayed in crude instead of getting off the boat before it was to late. like a psychic hooker who stayed on the titanic because the money was good despite knowing its fate.

To be 100% honest, I don't think anybody knows these answers right now. I am hearing the US economy will shrink anywhere from 20% to 30%. Right now Millions are getting unemployment payments. I know of several small businesses that have made the decision to not reopen. I try to always be optimistic when it comes to things, however, it's getting difficult now. I will say this. Short term, yes there will be slowdowns and in some places lack of freight. Long term will depend on factors that I don't think have been figured out yet. Tyson food has already sounded an alarm about the food supply chain. I briefly took note of a meat processing plant where people were protesting it shut down because of some employees testing positive. That shrinkage stat of 20% to 30% of the total US Economy scares the heck out of me. That is one I hope is wrong. We are in serious trouble if this is correct and steps are not taken to stop that!
Labrador Thanks this. -
I got out of the oilfield (mainly because it crashed and burned) to have a more stable job. Trust me, trucking is one of the most stable jobs out there.

Since your in OC It’s not too far from Santa Fe Springs, CA. I applied to R & R transportation as a local driver and they took me, 2 months training all local work, then your on your own. Only downside as others have mentioned is work IS very slow right now, the meat plants are closing and everyone who works locally is only averaging 15 hrs a week on a bad week and 40-45 on a good week. When i was training with my trainer, you will get a reduced pay since your training BUT I averaged 50-70 hrs a week so I was making some good money. (Anything over 40 hrs is OT). We have inward and outward facing cameras which most people don’t like and once you get hired your signed on a 8 month contract. There are a lot of local drivers at my company so they have to distribute the work but other than that you can PM me if you have anymore questions.

Where are you.... @Labrador ?!? Find @ something that 'WE' don't know about, ?!?!? LoL...
(I kinda doubt you'd beat out @Chinatown ...hehehehe~!)Labrador Thanks this. -
Thank you for all the companies. I am taking a look. I think I contacted R&R a year or so ago and they offered me the equivalent of less than minimum wage during training. Maybe that is normal though I don't know.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
