I am getting weird noises thru the steering column at idle. I think the power steering pump is going out? It does it randomly at idle for a couple seconds. Nothing while driving except when backing up in truck stop after turning right and left over and over it will make noise for couple seconds. What u guys think ?

 

Makes noise when not turning the wheel? Or when turning the wheel?

 

No at idle. Just sitting still

 

What makes you think it's the power steering pump? Because that usually only makes noise when turning

 

I banged on the pump with hammer today and it hasnt done it anymore
