Actually, those film's just show bug's on the camera lens. The fighter jets are turning and the spec is moving with the turn. The pilot's are just having fun with the public.

Statistically speaking, the concept of extra-terrestrial life is almost inevitable.

Look at our own planet. Life has appeared almost everywhere. Vegetation and animal. Additionally, we are seeing more and more possible proof of non-human intelligence of varying levels, some even approaching the possibility of sentience.

If we consider our planet as "average" on a galactic or universal scale, there is a fairly high statistical probability that life does indeed exist on other planets. If we maintain the current accepted ratio of life versus Intelligent or Sentient life (only one sentient species per however many million non sentient), there is good probability of extra-terrestrial sentient life.

The question then becomes "How many of these theorized sentient beings have developed scientifically and culturally enough to travel on an interstellar basis, and what are their intentions when they arrive in a new star system?"

Are they aggressive? Do they seek to conquer and claim? Are they explorers, seeking to expand knowledge? We don't know. Yet. Thus far, IF we have been visited by extra-terrestrials (still no empirical proof), we do not have enough information to determine intention.

 

Here on Earth humans have aquarium's full of fish and other marine life, cages of birds, geckos, or horned insects, zoo's full of assorted exotic animals. Yet as we ponder the distant solar systems we wonder why only this planet has oxygen, water, atmosphere, and life.

The aliens have created their own aquarium and here we are looking out at the universe not realizing that we're possibly just a form of entertainment. Like one of those aquariums in a restaurant that all the kids make faces at the fish swimming round and round as if they're actually in the ocean.
