Is 60k a good price for one of the trucks in the title? It has 200k on it, but it's loaded. 600HP 18spd (It's the volvo engine, though, and i know nothing about them) Leather 70" studio sleeper, inverter, etc. etc. I took one for a test ride about 2 years ago while i was getting my truck fixed, and really liked it, although the price tag on the one that i drove was entirely too much, i think that 60k is right in my price range.
I can't post a link but for those of you that don't know this is NOT the volvo that swift uses, it's similar but it has the longer hood and other amenities.
Oh, it's an 07 i believe.
Opinions?

stay away from the volvo engine too expensive and few places for repairs for an owner/op
-
The problem will more than likely be the trucks weight. With me, my gear, and 3/4 tanks the 07 880 that I had tipped the scales at 25,900. However, I LOVED that truck. I did not have any issues with it at all. I did have the I-Shift transmission and the 550hp D-16, but I am pretty sure I had a 77 inch sleeper and an APU.

you said 200k miles has the engine been overhauled or not and what work has been done on the ENGINE? -
I am not sure at this point what's been done to the engine, would it need an overhaul at 200k? That seems low?
I believe this one is either a 70 or 77" sleeper, it's big either way and has the workstation area that folds up into a table and chairs and then back down to a bed.
I drove a 387 for a while that was HEAVY HEAVY, i can probably deal with the weight.
It is a very nice truck, but the volvo engine has me wondering about service, i think you are correct...hmmm
I think that 387 i drove weighed around 32.5k but it's been a while, I remember TMC always wanted me to load right at 48,000 and i couldn't always take it.Last edited: Sep 15, 2009

actualy it is volvo vt830, vt880 has raised roof....
sleeper lenght is 78inch -
is it an '07 with an '06 or '07 engine? That will make a big difference in your maintenance costs too.

this is very in interesting how these engines in the United States passed a very bad
In Europe, the D16 with the scania´s v8 is considered as one of the most durable engines, here these engines without any problems crossing million miles(but with higher compression ratio, higher weights( mostly 88200lbs in some countries 97000lbs (UK Belgium Netherlands-110 000 on 6axles, Luxemburg, itally-but they tolerate 110 000) all the way to Sweden and Finland with 133 000+10%

Yes that's correct.

I don't know much about the 8 series Volvos, but I know a few o/o's with 770s and 780s who say that they are pretty well the heaviest trucks out there, and seem to be prone to electrical problems.
