I'm sitting in Yakima area waiting to get loaded, wondering what the deal is with wa 821. See signs on 82 saying its not for trucks may 15th through September 15. Looking at it on google, it looks pretty twisty. According to my atlas it is truck legal. I would think if anything it would be closed over the winter though.

It is a twisty road. It is 6 miles shorter then going on 82, but will take you longer due to all the twists.
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
But it is a very scenic drive along the river, not horrible twisty. If you have the time, take it, you will enjoy it. I took it every time I could, screw those big hills. It's closed in the warm months, because of the tourists.
It's the old road before the interstates were built. -
So they finally closed that one eh? Shame.
The smallest twisties road I hated ever was in MO on the rivertrail I was doing cartwheels when I got the rig off that cursed road. I was too wide, too high, too long too everything. Sheesh. -
To the OP: it follows the river and has a lot of car traffic during the summer, that’s why it’s closed to trucks. In the winter if 82 is bad over the hills you can run it and stay down in the valley. -
