The thing is you'll always have these kind of issues when you get in to trucks this old and this price range. If that's all that's wrong, then that's not too bad. My front differential on my work truck stays covered in dirt, because it leaks. Well, it leaks but it doesn't, I mean it must because that's what the dirt is sticking to but it hasn't needed any added in the 6mths it's been like that. I'm not saying buy or don't buy. Continued looking can't hurt. Maybe get the most mechanically knowledgeable person you know to go down there and look it over.

Dino, when you work with Mexicans, get used to that "mañana" attitude... To them, everything happens in due time, and not a minute earlier.

Little of both........the counties in north Texas haven't heard of a road grader................

Then the drivers.......who for the most part.......think they're running the Baja in an 18 wheeler take over from there.

Our shop has had to replace 3 complete dash assemblies in our 9200s so far this year. Shook apart due to driver don't give a sheet.

thanks tankergirl80, So i guess you spend less money upfront, then spend more on the repairs, or spend a little more up front in hopes that you have a better truck and maybe less on repairs? From what i've been reading over the last several weeks, repairs are almost a given. I guess I'm thinking buy cheaper knowing the repairs are gonna have to be done and then you're not surprised. also, i'm thinking i could get the truck for around 3500 - 4k. my mindset is at that price even with an inframe rebuild i'm still sitting pretty well and i know the motor is good for a while. what would a trans cost to rebuild? that is one thing i would want someone else to do. this is a 13 speed, not sure of the make. will find out.

Eagles are good trucks....especially the older ones. My girlfriend drives one loaded to the max line hauling gravel with a tridem end dump. I was commenting last night on how she never ever has any mechanical problems. The thing is a 96 and runs 10 loads/500-600 miles a day without so much as a wimper. :biggrin_25519:

here in tn. where im at there are a lot of mexicans employed by the local nurseries. you can ask them a question or tell them to do something it's alway's "me no speak english",but tell a dirty joke & they will be laughing their butts off. its selective hearing, the same thing your wife uses on you?:biggrin_255:
