I’m not opposed to helping people in need. No one that I know is. A basic safety net is okay. But that nanny state socialism goes too far.

Regarding Social Security, I know how much I contributed. I have a detailed spreadsheet with all contribution and future expected payments based on current guidelines. That is my money — I and my employers on my behalf have paid in. Unless I live to a very old age, I won’t get what I paid in. So, yes, I’ll be taking that money the month it becomes available.

I dont see an issue with some socialist ways. I dont think everything needs to be full blown socialist but some things i can get down with. Mainly health insurance. I think America could afford to adopt certain ways.

I completely disagree. You stick your penor in a woman, you should be fully and 100% prepared to take on 50% of the responsibility (financially and personally) should that action bring a child into the world. If I had a kid, I sure as #### wouldn't be pissing and moaning, making demands that the government subsidize my family with taxpayer dollars.

In theory you should be ready financially. In reality for most people that's virtually impossible. I certainly fell into that category of being unprepared. Now I dont totally disagree with your post. I dont think that people should recklessly bring kids into the world for that very reason. It is super expensive, and both parties should be responsible. I just got a problem with self righteous comments. Ain't nobody is perfect and to judge someone because their luck went a different way than yours is crazy. Anytime two people tango, it's always a possibility a baby can come out of it. The man in the article has 8 kids, and it could have been any of us on here. I have no problem with him using the system. Its available to him. No for those who are wealthy, I have no problem with them either. You get your needs met however you do it. It makes me laugh sometimes, the poorer people have a serious disdain, maybe jealousy towards the wealthy because they have "too much money." Then the wealthy have a disdain, maybe hate for paying taxes that contribute to helping less fortunate people. If it's available use it. I have no issue and I dont fit in either category.

If you feel strongly about something then you should do what you can to fix it. But don’t make demands on others to satisfy your own conscience. Make your case, convince, beg, and plead but don’t take without permission.
Don’t confuse what I say as judgmental. I don’t care how many kids you have, just don’t take from others without permission. And most of all, show some gratitude when given a handout.

I never said he cannot post. Just like he has the right to post threads (with a hidden political agenda), I also have the right to post comments. You can say I’m showing this member’s ulterior motives to many of the new members who may not be aware of it.

It always amuses me when people cry PC. So now I can’t criticize because that’s somehow PC? Instead of crying, how about people engage in an actual discussion. Come at me bro. ;)

    How said he "demanded"?

You do realise it was the newspaper using that word to push their aganda.

    He had a house.
    It was to small.
    He declined similiar sized houses.

Now could it be he was abusing the system?
Yes it could be or not
I don't know enough about this story to judge.

I do know how easy it is spin a story to suit the authors agenda.

I don't think Chinatown has any ulterior motives other than to post things that catch his attention. if they lean to the right, so be it,

my point was that instead of attacking him for posting a news article that apparently got your panties in a wad, or for his political views, do like you suggest above and have an actual discussion about the content of the article. if you will notice that is exactly what others did.

as for me, I'm anything but PC.what I had a problem with is your typical leftist "attack the messenger, ignore the message" approach.

and I don't think anyone needs you to point out or highlight anyones political agenda , hidden or otherwise. I'm sure that after a week any new members will be well aware of @Chinatown 's evil right leaning politics .
