Anyone Know how to over ride opti idle

I had an international truck and the trick I used was to back your truck then leave it in reverse then set the tractor breaks and keep it in reverse I used it only when I really needed it like in really hot areas in the summer otherwise the opti idol does a pretty good job

 

If you leave it in reverse with a manual trans it will stall without the clutch pushed in.
If you leave it in reverse with an auto, and with the brake set, it will shift itself to Neutral in a few seconds.

Lucky seems like the James Bond of the lame duck story.

 

The following is SATIRE. Do not attempt.


Get two(2) twenty(20) ton hydraulic pump jacks. Set trailer brakes, one jack under each differential, raise jacks until drive tires are just off the ground. release tractor brakes and put transmission in Low Low. Start engine and release clutch. Truck will think it is idling down the road and won't shut off. Of course, your mileage variance will be shot to Hell and Back, but you will sleep in comfort.
And hope the jacks don't bleed down during the night and the drive tires hit the ground.
