Moving from Chicago, IL to Knoxville,TN

I'm not even in the south, smart guy. I just appreciate different cultures and the fact that we still have different parts of America. I dont want everything homogenized by punks from CA, chicago and the northeast.

My initial comment was directed towards yours about how cost of living down south is cheap and all that. Well its not for long once turds from CA, chicago, and the northeast start flooding in. Im not saying the OP is one of those. Just that in the big picture, these people flood in like locusts and ruin what made these areas appealing to begin with. Some move here..try to change things, an realize that won't work. They either adapt, or move on.

We moved 6 years ago from Madison WI, to Midland TX. Some things here are cheaper, some more expensive. Liquor stores are closed on Sunday’s, but you can buy wine, and beer from grocery stores after 12:00 noon on Sunday.

 

I moved to the Smoky Mountains just last summer from Texas (It is true they ruin everything that is good.) and bought a log cabin here. Knoxville is the last paradise left.

If the op is one of them yanks then please stick to the north!
