ChipperDawg: Poobah - thanks for the kind words. I appreciate them. Rules have changed... you can leave in the first week and not get charged (Friday until Midnight. If you leave after the first week it becomes pro-rated. So if you do everything good, and don't pass the road test - you get a certificate and a $3k bill.

I am at home now and there are a few prospects for jobs around here. I know quite a few people and finding something shouldn't be too difficult.


Glad to know you got home safe and sound...Lehi is a nice little community. I've always wanted to have a steak at Porter Rockwell's...is the food any good there?
I can understand your disappointment with Central's high attrition rate. It does seem counter productive somewhat. Hope to continue to hear from you in the future.

 

Porter's Place? I haven't been there forever. Their food is good, but they are constantly being shut down because of rats. Last time I was there there were traps almost in every corner. One had one caught. I don't eat there anymore. LOL

Sorry ssccrab. but I am glad you found it before you went. You could talk to security, and I probably would if it were me just to make sure. If you can afford to go, I would look into Watkins and Shepherd... they seem to have a great school, but the downside is no financing and it costs nearly $5k.

I am glad you know what is going to happen and that you are practicing. I know that I am glad I found this place and was able to have a great insight into the company. You're gonna do perfect!

 

I just got supprised.
I was screwing around and checking some safestat numbers. Central is down to a 68, which is not too bad for them. There driver numbers are still not too good, but they have very low OOS on equipment.
Though both are higher than at my company, but then we run loose leaf logs and our trucks are at the yard every weekend. So ours is at a 36.
BTW, for those of you that have never checked out safestat, the lower the numbers the better. You get around 75++ and they will inspect you allot more. Central is in the middle catagory as an optional.
My company is well into pass.
Though I was inspected enough in the time I have been here that it does not seem to matter, much more than when I was at Central. Though when I started here they had us listed as Inspect, due to insuffecent data. I guess they have the data now.
But really, with Central drivers having like 200+ million miles driven with 1700+ power units 176 or so accidents is not really all that high. It is all in how you see the numbers.
Granted, parking lot accidents do not make the list lol.

 

Thanks for your kind words, guys. I'll give Blake in Security a call early tomorrow morning to get the real story on it. I find it so hard to believe that it would have to be 5 years for a diversion, when there's no criminal charge on my record at all. Not only that, but diversions can be expunged after 3 years, so 5 sounds a little too long for something like that. I guess we'll see tomorrow though. Wish me luck everyone!

 

Ok ya'll gotta slow the heck down on here. I took a couple hours off the web to watch Ghost Hunters and ya'll took 3 more pages. How can I keep up? When I'm on ya'll aren't and vice versa come on boys work with me here..........lololol

 

Boy do I agree with you widow. I try to get on before classes. When I do there are at least 35 to 50 new posts...And then try going away for the weekend and comming back to 10-20 pages....Have a good day everyone

 

UPDATE- Ok guys, I talked to Blake a few minutes ago over the phone, and explained the whole situation to him about the diversion & that it's not active (it was filed and basically done and over with in a few days- no community service or probation). I explained that I do not have any type of criminal conviction on my record, but that a diversion would show up on public records. He explained to me that he would talk to his manager, and also talk to Sarah on running my background. This will be taking place today, and the background should come back within a few days. If everything checks out good as I've discussed with him, I'll be on my way there. I'm very confident now, as I've disclosed everything that would appear on my background. Wish me luck everyone!
