I thought of adding a reefer. As soon as the dry box is paid off, I will do it. There are times here when reefers make a difference and times when a dry van is better. Especially when you work on a spot market.
For instance, the very hauling of produce from CA in Summer time then apples from NW to Chicago market might be worth owning a reefer. For Off season, the van could be used.
The maintenance cost of a van is low. Just having it does not cost much, except the parking.Last edited: May 19, 2020

I just got into a small lot after being on the waiting list for months. Went from $150each to $100 each. I’m also saving $400 a month in tolls on my dedicated run with the new spots. I’m pretty happy.
