paying a company driver on a 1099 is illegal for one and secondly you gotta be careful on a 1099 you gotta pay 15% for taxes company doesn't pay your payroll taxes you are solely responsible. 1099 also should pay more then w2 employee sounds like that deal sucks but it is illegal after i all i would run run very fast.

That is 15% of your gross and is for social security plus you must pay you income taxes quarterly in advance. In my lease purchase, l prepaid $1500 every quarter. It was close enough for the IRS. l was audited once. l owed an additional $312. Now retired, l was never audited after that.

It's only 7.5% additional taxes ... The employee always pays 7.5%.

Furthermore W2 employees pay on the gross. 1099 contractors pay on the net.

Still illegal though and still not to your benefit to be a 1099 employee.
