People just default to using the term Jake brake for any engine brake regardless of manufacture.
What should really chap your arse is when pickup truck owners think their exhaust brake is a Jake brake

Depending upon what kind of dump truck it is. A little 6 wheeler likely might not have a Jake but most 10 wheelers and I imagine all triaxles do. These dump trucks are the same trucks as a day cab tractor trailer with a modified frame and dump on the back. When I ran dump truck, the truck was on an overweight permit for 68k on a 10 wheeler..... that's quite heavy for a straight truck, it should have a Jake. Blacktop, stone, dirt.... are not light materials

This truck is ultrashift not stick shift thinkin maybe thats why no jake. i called cummins they told me there is a low mode on when U press that it will maximize engine braking, keeps it runnin on low gears
