My last load was a drop. Wasn't due to drop until tomorrow. As it is right across the street from Hill-Phoenix over on Ruffin Mill, I went ahead and dropped it today.
Came back to the yard, sat around for an hour and a half. Figured I was done for the day, which was fine with me. Only had 4 hours and change on my clock.
Then I got a call from my DM.
"You want another load?"
"...sure."
So they gave me a load of margarine going to Indy with a 12:30am delivery time in the wee hours of Sunday morning. And said that they had the paperwork in the office.
Went to retrieve the paperwork, told 'em "If I'd known it was a midnight delivery, I woulda said 'no' when you asked me if I wanted a load."
DM said "Midnight? I think it's for noon."
I said "My load assignment says 12:30am."
He said "Lemme double check."
Sure enough, he was right. It's due in Indy on Sunday at noon. And it's here on the yard.
So I'll hook up tomorrow morning and hit the road at my usual time, have myself a nice, leisurely Saturday, drive about 6 hours, and deliver on time on Sunday. And then we'll see what happens after that.JohnBoy, MidWest_MacDaddy and jarhead0311 Thank this. -
@JohnBoy ... you know how there is a “freeze on annual longevity increases”?
I’m starting to think that is what I’m hitting with my request for a Mid Year Election of Benefits... nothing else makes any sense... I submitted my request now over two weeks ago and still not getting a straight answer... the total BS and excuses that are flowing out of RVA just blows my freaking mind.
My wife’s former employer actually laughed at what they were requesting and why... LAUGHED... and then said “NO”... lol ... That’s Sad... so sad... but one HR Department got a good chuckle out of it... lol and I am getting a bit of exercise jumping through their hoops... and rather enjoying the debate and reading their responses and reasonings... lol
Now, I’ll be honest, we all know I’m not a mechanic... the garage might be able to BS me about why I haven’t had heat in the front of my truck throughout the winter, and still don’t... oh I know it’s BS just can’t prove it... but back office stuff, well, let’s say that I’m not too ignorant of those issues.
pathetic... just pathetic...
I can’t imagine the Jones Family pulling this back when we were Abilene... but now we are Knight/Swift... Someone outside of RVA is surely pulling these puppet strings... (ya, I’m looking at you Arizona)
At least the Trucks are still Emerald Green...
Just don’t rub that paint job too hard...
... you might see a red base coat...
But... nothing will change... cheers...JohnBoy, Finfn1372, 4mer trucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
