Dumbest question ever... Why does swift have some white and some blue trucks?

    There have been blue trucks for years.
    Not many, like not that many now. But I don't think Knight had anything to do with it.

    Back in the day blue trucks were lease trucks, now who the hell knows. I think they go .1 mph faster so 65.1 chicken hauler fleet

    I do believe all Swift trucks will be blue to follow the color scheme like Knight is red on rear doors on trailers. The new 210+ trailer doors are blue.

    That day was quite sometime ago ... It's been at least since 2007, that Swift leased exclusively blue trucks.

    The real answer........Truck co. fleet requirements can change on short notice as well as travel lanes and driver needs, so, as an example, Swift (or any carrier) gets a new contract that requires 350 new trucks next week to fulfill the contract, BUT, as you know, you cannot call Freightliner and order 350 new trucks with a 3 day lead time to be delivered. However, Freightliner says to Swift, Hey, we have 350 trucks that we can deliver tomorrow, but, they are 300 blues and 25 maroons and 25 gold. They're sitting in Dallas right now. At that point Swift doesn't care if they're not white, they just need those units in service like now.

    Come right down to it, the color of the truck, or trailer, is the least of any driver's worries. If both the truck & trailer are in good running condition, and can pass the DOT inspections, the color really doesn't amount to a hill of beans.
