Thank you for that...that gave me a good chuckle.

 

Anybody driving for green valley transportation right now? Would like to ask a few questions.

 

The ghost fleet trucks were fueling at a certain fuel stop in Cheyenne one day this past week. As I got off, I noticed two of the support pickups across the street, another one up front, two at the gas pumps, another across at Arby's, 4 more in the truck parking area. The trucks were fueling, in each case, one guy was behind the wheel, while the other two tended to the fuel, cleaning windows, lights, mirrors. What was funny though is after they parked and all came inside in groups, they could not look any more like gov't/military contractors if they tried, all while trying to blend in. Riiight, ripstop BDU pants in different colors, all were carrying a handgun, even more obvious despite it being "concealed" (the outlines were very visible, and the two guys in wind breakers one size too tight so the mag pouches were obvious), denim or western type shirts, with oversized denim jackets. Every stereotype of a gov't contractor, right down to the long beards. As each group walked back out to their respective vehicles, others went inside.

Used to move furniture in my younger days. We did a move for a well known company that builds military stuff. A bunch of big heavy safe like file cabinets went into the truck. We were told to put a padlock on the box and we were on our way.

We didnt even know it until we stopped to grab some lunch ( I wasnt driving ), but 2 white vans with blacked out windows were following us.

Kind of crazy to think we could have been ambushed by the Libyans or whoever, and we had no idea.

None of us had any type of security clearance.

 

Looks like you boys stumbled onto the Government's courier division. If you saw any markings on these trucks and escorts then it was NOT the courier division. But if they were clean then, I'd stay back some and never talk with them. I used to load them at various sites. We could never go past the back of the trailer. No matter how many comic heroes you might have, the government has already tested every possible entity anyone can dream of.

Sounds like a clean outfit to me. Apart from the beards, it's nice to see some form of professional dress outside of the cringe flip-flops and PJ's most drivers seem to love to sport.
