What is an ideal situation for those of you that are leased on owner ops?
Deduction amounts, percentages, who pays for what, things you like, dislike.
What if you were guaranteed a certain gross revenue long as you were ready and willing to drive after the 34 was over? Like get back Friday PM and leave Sunday mid day? I know most owner ops don’t like forced dispatch but you wouldn’t have to leave, just would have to in order to get the guarantee. Nobody is doing this that I can see but I’ve also been doing company driver guarantees since before I saw anybody else so it’s nothing new for me. If you like this idea, how much would you expect it or hope it to be weekly?
I won’t go on and on, I’m just looking to potentially increase my owner op percentage of the fleet by a lot and need ideas how to attract and keep serious owners.
Thanks.

Contract freight. IMO most owner ops that are leased on want the stability of contract freight over the ups and downs of the spot market.

$350k/yr salary. You got me and my truck like a company schmuck. At your beckoned call. You cover all OSOW permits, pilot cars, whatever. I do what you say, go where you point, no questions asked. Zero hand holding. Book the load and relax. I got it. If the dims the customer gave you are correct, we should have zero problem.

You are approaching this as if they are drivers, they are independent contractors and have a lot of latitude to make their own decisions.Coffey and LoneRanger Thank this. -
@Ridgeline is correct about force dispatch, this would make them company drivers.
As far as expanding? I’m thinking right now about signing on.Coffey Thanks this. -

He isn't doing a force dispatch, he is offering a bonus if you only take a 34 off and are available for dispatch until your next 34. That is ok.

The answer to that is different for everyone. It just depends on the person. For me the ideal situation would be
Self dispatch
At least 75 percent plus 100 percent of all accessories pay
Access to fair fuel and equipment discounts.
I'm pretty easy to please. I get 2 out of three with the company I'm leased onto. I am dispatched but on the lane I wanted anyways so I'm happy with it.Midwest Trucker and Coffey Thank this. -
