Well, thanks for all of the input even if it wasn't what I wanted to hear. Farmboy the retirement savings that I was going to dip into is in the TSP since I am LE retired after the year I turned 55 there is no penalties for withdrawing. However they do retain 20% for taxes no matter what I would use the withdrawal for. So for a $200,000 purchase I would have to withdraw $250,000. Ouch! I would hope that all of the State taxes and fees could be deducted along with a healthy dose of depreciation the first year.
So after listening to y'all I emailed a local owner who called back and we set a date for me to take a road test. It sounds like it is less than full time which is great for me because I do not want to leave the school district hanging. I am sure there would be more hours in the summer when school is out.
59Mack I remember when I was a kid and a B model would go by in the early 70s and everybody would ohh and ahh! I imagine you get a lot of ohhs and ahhs now that they are a lot more scarce.
So in the mean time if I find a used truck that speaks to me like that new KW880 I won't be locked in. It would have to be a hell of a truck and a very nice price though.
Newbie purchasing new dump truck.

If the truck isnt top notch you would get more of man that sucks or he pissed off the boss. Our boss uses our r model as a punishment....

Lots of ohs and ahs yellow and black with a straight pipe makes everyone look
As far as the boss making me drive the Mack R as punishment I think i would be in trouble everyday
-
I'd take that punishment with a grin and an evil laugh.
