Mark,
Sorry but apparently you do not understand what an anti-depressant medication does. People that suffer from depression have a chemical imbalance in their brain. The medication helps to re-balance the chemical reactions that take place between their neurons. These meds have no upper or downer effects, no halucegens and no effect on a persons mental alertness. They do NOT change the way a person drives. As someone else stated earlier they aren't happy pills.
Medical Certificates, what a joke!

Id rather have a driver next to me with treated depression than one with NON TREATED depression..
Just my 2 cents.
There was also a debate about law enforcement taking anti depressants a few years ago, and that was the same conclusion that they came to as well. If not treated it can slow reaction time, change your attitude for the worst, among many other things.
Treatment solves these issues, and therefore my point. -

I have never had to falsify a dot physical or use the cards provided in the packets sold at truckstops. We DO NOT NEED MORE RULES OR LAWS, put the quack doctors, or the drivers that falsify medical cards ,use whatever fines or penalties that are already called for. OH, I,m sorry I forgot that we cannot put Quack or Incompetant Doctors out of business (unless they prescribe narcotics to a rockstar that dies, Elvis, Michael jackson) Its easier to put more laws on already over regulated working class people, and cheaper to carry a driver to court than adoctor.

Looking into a career and curious.
If someone lies on the medical questionnaire or to the examining doctor, under what conditions would this be discovered and what would be the penalties. -
dieselbear.
curious? altho i carry a current med card and not falsified in any way, i know that some dot's ask for a long form card and the only copy i have is from a previous exam. when i got my current one i asked for the long form and the docs office said i dont need it etc etc. next time i get the exam do i need make sure to have the long form or will my "old" one work.
also what help does it do us when the feds want to have full authorization to see my whole history? that's not only a violation of personal rights of the B O R but also that of doctor patient privilege if im not mistaken, right? -
At roadside you just need your card. Your long form should be on file with the carrier. If you don't have the card, I will ask for the long form. If you don't have either one, it's a violation. As far as the bill of rights violation, the medical certificate is required to drive. So I guess if you don't drive then you don't have to worry about it.
SmokeyCowboy009 Thanks this.
