Loooong week......left the house Monday morning, emptied in Pensacola, bounced up to Montgomery, back to Daytona, up to jax then out to anniston, bounced back to Montgomery, down to Spring Hill fl, shot down to okeechobee then out to Pensacola this morning, over to apalachicola then finally home. Almost 3,500 miles in my five days out, been a long time since I’ve worked this hard, this ol’ boy is tired

That’s a lot of running. Good for you I’m glad you’re staying busy. I did the dirt job Monday to Wednesday. Got rained out Thursday and just bounced to the salt mine and came back, then did a sand load in town to a concrete plant. Rained out today too and took railroad ballast to a train derailment 248 miles away. Reloaded red shale and brought it back to the yard. Long day but railroad jobs always pay good. The derailment was quite a few cars and they were all grain. I’m supposed to go down Monday and spend the week hauling away said grain to the local co-op. Should be easy peasy! Hope everyone has a relaxing and good weekend.

One of our main customers started receiving again after a nearly 2 month shut down for coronavirus @motocross25 so that has increased our work load, plus aggregates have taken off with everyone staying home and finding time to landscape. It’s a good time to be an end dump hauler in my neck of the woods, good to see this thread showing life again.

BTW, I hung up the boots last year after a pretty knarly shoulder dislocation, and pretty disgusting as well, if I never feel pain like that again I’ll be a happy man. I’ve taken back up speed skating with my old moto buddy, and so far am getting as much, if not more, enjoyment from it.

Its the rock that the track and everything lay on. I never really paid attention or knew how thick they laid that stuff down til getting into this line of work. They aren’t bashful with it, that’s for sure.

Oh sorry to hear you had to hang things up. I did the same thing over a similar injury. Like @tndriver I had scaled off of MX and was getting into hare scrambles more. I was just taking a lazy corner, nothing crazy, got my front wheel into the loam, and it washed out and I went down. It shoulda been one of those things you just pick your bike up from, swing a leg back over it and brush it off, but man I landed weird on my shoulder and it popped and my collarbone was tweaked. And that was it for me too. Nuts to it.

Technical term for 'rock.' Lol. I thought maybe it had something to do with flipping railcars back over after a derailment... you know, ballast like a counterweight so a car would flip, but not roll. :banghead:
